Autumn Holidays in Cornwall
Autumn is always a great time to visit Cornwall. The summer crowds are starting to leave, the footpaths and beaches are a little quieter and the whole county heaves a sigh of relief and reminisces of the busy summer that has just passed.
The sea that has been warmed over the summer months provides a great opportunity for those last swims of the year and the harvest evenings are perfect for relaxing barbecues and watching the beautiful sunsets.
The farmers markets and local craft fairs are still going on in the towns and villages and thoughts go to the Oyster Festival where locals and visitors join to celebrate the beginning of the oyster fishing season on the Fal. Even if you are not a fan of oysters or seafood there is music and entertainment throughout the weekend to suit everybody, young and young at heart!
This year's walking festival starting in October, is already looking like a great festival building on the success of last year. It is a great opportunity to take in some amazing walks around the Fal area and find lots of hidden gems and secrets of the past-don't forget the dog!
If a relaxing holiday is what you are after then autumn is definitely the time to come down to Cornwall and enjoy the wind down after the crazy summer months, before the excitement of Christmas starts to build!
