Carrick Roads

Boasting some of the finest sheltered waters in the UK, the Carrick Roads offers a great base for sailing. There are many yacht racing events, both local and national, that take place throughout the season in the area.  

The entire area is protected as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, from the mouth which has Fraggle Rock to one side and Pendennis Castle deep into the tree lined creeks and rivers to Truro. Home to many wading birds, seals and otters, not to mention all the basking sharks and dolphins that come into the Roads to feed.

There are numerous tiny water ways and tributaries to explore and so many different ways to explore them-walking, cycling, sailing and kayaking to name but a few!
